The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme ensures the protection of girls and their survival and makes sure that girls participate in educational activities alongside boys. This scheme thus spreads the awareness that girl children are not a burden.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana specifically focuses on the girl child and is designed as a small savings scheme that can be used towards the welfare of the girl child, such as higher education and wedding-related expenses.
Adult Education and Skill Development Scheme
Adult Education seeks to provide educational opportunities to people who have passed the age of formal education but still feel a need for learning of any kind, such as basic education (reading), skill development (Vocational Education), and so on.
Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)
It is hoped that by having a secondary school within a reasonable distance of any residence, the project will reach an enrolment rate of 75%, up from 52.26% in 2005-06.
